Avast Service Review

Avast is a massive mainstay in the antivirus industry with a powerful malware diagnosis engine, as well as many additional features, including ransomware coverage as well as a web-based fire wall and VPN assistance. Its malware detection score of 6 out 6 during our tests was excellent and it did an excellent job of preventing access to phishing sites that slipped through Chrome’s and Firefox default protection.

In our real-world tests, Avast was able to filter through over two million separate files in a full scan, which is impressive considering the suite is relatively lightweight and efficient. Avast did not affect the system’s performance in any way during our speed tests. It was faster than many of its competitors which can take as long as an hour to scan the same number of files.

The interface of Avast is clean easy to navigate. The majority of its features are located on one display with clear tiles that represent each feature which make it easy to locate the features you require without having to browse through a long menu or multiple applications. This is a huge improvement over McAfee suite which has all of its features scattered among different applications.

Avast provides a high standard of customer service, including 24 hour assistance via email or phone. Avast also has a knowledge base and forums to assist you with the most basic problems. You can also use a ticketing service to seek assistance with more complicated issues. However, its practices for sharing data are a source of malware vs virus concern, and it does not have a password management feature or parental controls to match rivals like Bitdefender’s Total Security.
