Antivirus Problems

Antivirus is a popular product that has long been advertised as a common product similar to toothbrush, detergent, or car. Although they are popular, antiviruses they are not without flaws.

It’s simply not possible for antivirus programs to keep up with the variety and quantity of new malware being developed every day. It is an arms race, and it is far from all antivirus programs that are available off the shelf or online, they actually provide a security level close to 100%.

Another issue is that Trojans and viruses can manipulate your computer’s software in a way they are unable to be detected. This can happen when the virus changes the settings of the antivirus program, or when it exploits one of its features or functions to cause false-positive.

Furthermore, there are a number of instances where the antivirus software cannot detect files even if they’re clearly dangerous. This happens because the antivirus has not had the chance to add the particular file to its database. To do that it must analyse the file and compare its contents with known malware-related files in the antivirus’s database. This is a long and resource-intensive process. The slower it runs it is, the less accurate the detection. The antivirus must also install interceptors that analyze events in the protected computer kernel in order to send the data to its engine.
